African Male Sculpture Kuba Royal Fertility Cup Congo 11.5" H X 5" W
Handcrafted in the Congo D.R.C., this antique cup was a ceremonial gift to royalty, representing power and fertility. It's carved of sturdy African wood with accents of copper representing tribal design and scarification throughout upper part and handle of this unique and rare cup.
Made for palm wine, this vessel has been passed down in one family in Lubumbashi through several generations.
There are signs of repairs that were made before this vessel was in my possession, which is typical of a valued item passed down through generations.
